Description
Uses
Bostik W110 Thermal Acoustic Wrap is a self-adhesive membrane supplied on a lightweight roll. It is designed for use on plastic rainwater & soil pipes where temperatures do not exceed +90°C. It adheres to many common building materials such as PVC & steelwork. Bostik W110 is supplied ready to use and does not require time to cure or dry and forms an instant bond around pipework. The butyl adhesive forms a barrier which contains any potential moisture buildup. It is very thin and can be used in tight applications ensuring less room is taken up on site. No extra banding is required saving installation time and materials on site. It is independently fire and acoustic tested to ensure highest product performance. Bostik W110 Thermal Acoustic Wrap consists of a thermal acoustic layer laminated between two layers of high-performance pressure sensitive butyl and finished with an aluminum face. The compact and lightweight roll is easy and safe to move around site.
Directions for use
Before using Bostik W110 Thermal Acoustic Wrap refer to the relevant Health & Safety Data Sheet, available at www.bostik.com/uk.
Preparation and Application
- The surface to be bonded must be clean, dry and free from dust, grease and loose materials.
- Unwind the roll and cut a piece to the size required to wrap around the pipe, ensure a minimum 25mm overlap. Start to peel off the protective liner taking care not to touch the adhesive surface. Align the wrap over surface and attach to the surface. While removing the protective liner progressively pull the wrap taut and then press down well over the entire surface.
- To avoid air bubbles carry out roll-pressing to achieve a good adhesive bond. Ensure that the overlap is well adhered
- Use Bostik T303 Self-Adhesive Bright Foil Tape to seal the all the joints.
Precautions in Use
The person carrying out the building work should arrange for sound insulation testing to be carried out by a test body with appropriate third party accreditation. Approved Document E, sections 2, 3, 4 and 6 give examples of constructions which if built correctly should achieve the sound insulation values for dwelling houses and flats. The guidance in these sections is not exhaustive and other designs, materials or products may be used to achieve the required performance.
